DAY 18

Posted by David Weir

My focus for the next three days is thanksgiving. I am so thankful for the breakthroughs we have already seen and for a year of rewards as we seek God diligently this year. Through this First Fruits Fast we are setting a precedent for the whole year. This year will be different because of a new passion and determination to seek God earnestly. So as we see the finish line ahead, let's deliberately express our thanksgiving for what God has done and for a year of guidance, favor, protection, and blessing.

Ezra 8:21-23 (New King James Version)
21 Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions. 22 For I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, “The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.” 23 So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.

Remember that thanksgiving is a key to receiving supernatural peace that transcends our understanding.

Philippians 4:6-7 (New King James Version)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
