Proverbs 24:10-12 (New King James Version)
10 If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small. 11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death, And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter. 12 If you say, “Surely we did not know this,” Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?
Last night as I was praying, the Lord drew my attention to these verses. I read verse ten often because I want to help people stay strong, and live resilient lives. Last night the Lord spoke to me about people who were fasting, that they were going to be strong in times of adversity. That even though we all go through tough times, we can be strong in the Lord and not walk on the brink of disaster and despair.
Think about that as you continue to read verses eleven and twelve. If we are going to hold back those stumbling to the slaughter, we cannot be stumbling around ourselves. We have to be steady and strong, encouraged and inspired.
That is God's best for you this year. To be strong and courageous, and to hold others back from the precipices of fear and despair .
Psalm 18:33 (New King James Version)
33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places
