DAY 2

Posted by David Weir

The first few days are the hardest. It takes discipline to ignore the hunger pangs and resist the old habits. Drink plenty of water and pray. As we discipline our bodies and make them be quiet, our spirits become more sensitive to God and we become "hungry" for His presence and for the Word of God to speak into our lives.

Proverbs 27:7 describes how we can live without even being hungry for the things of God.

Proverbs 27:7 (Amplified Bible)
7He who is satiated [with sensual pleasures] loathes and treads underfoot a honeycomb, but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

Don't give up. Be wise about your circumstances and use this time to seek God in prayer and fasting!
